Morning Time got caught off the track last time out yet never stopped trying in the straight when beaten just over a length behind Festus Hagen. Drops a significant 3 kgs here and has drawn the rails which should see him prominent in the running. 3 from 5 over this track and distance and he looks a great each way chance in an open affair.

Gold Trail sat outside the speed and went down fighting behind the promising Garden Island last start. Up to the 1200 metres shouldn’t pose a problem and expect him to adopt similar tactics here.

Noble Edict is in career best form at present and despite having to lump 59.5kgs here, barrier 3 should provide him with a lovely trail in the race and he’ll be chiming in at the right time. Also engaged in race 7, so check scratchings.

Rotorua is one to keep an eye on. From the very shrewd Cummings yard and despite having had a long spell he’s been tuned up with a couple of recent trials and may show up fresh.

Gold Trail tried hard last start to finish up close 2nd at Rosehill. Should be fitter for the 2 runs this campaign and looks ready to win.

Noble Edict has also accepted in race 7, so not entirely sure he will run in this weaker race, but has been very consistent racing in good fields with large weights. This is an obvious class drop and with the ideal barrier would be a stand out chance.

Prince Vilhelm is first-up after a 14 month spell, but does have a bit of class about him. Won 2 from 2 first-up and has trialled quite well into this.

Look to a horse such as Our Corey should Noble Edict be scratched.
