If she’s anywhere near fit Pat (Benatar) should prove simply too good for her rivals here. Her form towards the end of last preparation was indicative of a horse who is going to graduate to black type status this campaign and she’s got in very nicely at the weights against what is essentially a bunch of off season fillies and mares. The only query is her indifferent fresh form so don’t be taking short odds about her.

Peter Moody has a good record with producing mares fresh and on that basis I’m throwing Paralegal in for 2nd. She produced some handy runs last preparation and while she may find the 1100 metres a little bit too short, she should be able to position handy enough to contest the finish.

White Diamonds is a consistent type who has form around Benatar from last campaign. There doesn’t appear to be any speed whatsoever in this race so she should be able to negate her wide barrier quite easily and get a cheap run in front. If the track is playing to leaders, she could be the one who goes around over the odds.

Chance also to Millie Rose who of the fit horses represents the best chance in the race.

Paralegal does mix form, but usually produces a good first-up run and expecting Peter Moody to have the daughter of O'Reilly to be ready to go. Drawn well and the distance and weight look suitable. Go well.

Sensational Toy was very good first-up before finishing off strongly late on last week. Backs up quickly here (good sign) and the extra 100m looks to suit perfectly. More than her fair share of weight, but has the class to win.

Last campaign Benatar found the one thing that was holding her back from becoming a good horse....consistency. Won three in a row prior to a 5 month spell and while it usually takes her a couple of runs to find her best form she is well placed here by Mayfield-Smith.
