Race Speed: EVEN
Not many natural leaders so Maldivian to the front and can dictate the tempo.

 

How they will settle.
Provided Maldivian jumps well, he should hustle through from the inside and lead with Cinque Cento likely to take the trail in behind him.  Expect Anamato to be a little handier today, with Douro Valley getting a nice run.  Eskimo Queen will be midfield on the rails and may need some luck while Scenic Shot should work across OK from his wide barrier.  Princess Coup could be stuck a little wide as there a lot of horse who settle midfield or just worse than midfield.  Master O’Reilly and Maybe Better should settle a touch worse than midfield whilst other Melbourne Cup hopefuls Blue Monday, Bluetigeroo and last year’s winner Tawqeet will get well back and be hoping for a solid tempo to run home on.
