6 – Maybe Better

 

Can’t go past Miss Finland here given slow tempo and her ability to box seat.  Only query will be her fitness but Hayes won’t have her here for a picnic.

 

Haradasun has drawn awkwardly but if ridden positively can definitely challenge the mare so should be a cracking finish.

 

Maybe Better has had two runs back and can also take advantage of slow tempo and should be able to hold on for 3rd, despite probably looking for a longer trip now.

 

El Segundo must be respected but first up run was inconclusive and trainer doesn’t have him fully wound up yet.  Tempo likely to be against.

 

Interesting runner Zupaone who steps up to this grade for the first time but can’t knock last start win.  Could give some cheek at odds.

This is what Spring is all about. A field full of class with plenty of legitimate claims. Gone for El Segundo on top, a very professional animal with a great sprint. If he gets cover will be tough to beat.

 

Haradasun still does too much wrong to win against the older horses yet, but if he puts it all together he could win.

 

Miss Finland has just been found wanting against the males in the past and is vulnerable over 1400m despite the weight and barrier advantage.
