Race 4-LONGINES WAKEFUL STAKES 2000 METRES 12.40 P.M.

 

Big O’s Oracle

 

2 – Antarctic Miss
3 – Extension of Time
1 – Serious Speed

 

Going to tip the same trifecta as per Thousand Guineas with a slight variation in finishing order.

 

Antarctic Miss did plenty wrong last start yet still kicked clear on straightening only to be run down late.  She’s still learning the caper however, if they can cross to the fence and lead and get it pretty soft, she’ll be very hard to run down.  Breeding suggests she will get the trip.

 

Extension of Time was ridden a treat last start however, found the winner a shade to good.  Is out of a ‘miler’ sire and dam however, if ridden patiently, she should be able to get in the finish here.

 

Serious Speed was an explosive winner of the Thousand Guineas and no reason why she can’t repeat here.  Slight negatives in that she now has to carry the extra weight over her rivals and will need to make up a lot of ground in the straight to catch the others.

Tough lead-up race for the Oaks. Serious Speed was impressive, but with the 57kg this time makes it hard to have her winning this.

 

3 - Extension of Time

5 - Absolut Glam

11 - Diva La Belle

 

Great effort last start by Extension of Time when getting home well late-on. Has been the most consistent of form in the race, looks like the distance will suit.

 

Absolut Glam is top drawer and has really has had no luck this campaign. Due a slice and can figure in the finish.

 

Diva La Belle was unsuited by the slow tempo last start, should get a more suitable pace in this. Plenty of upside and is good each way value at long odds.
