Race 7-AAMI VICTORIA DERBY 2500 METRES 03.00 P.M.
Big O’s Oracle
11 – Littorio
3 – Villain
4 – Kibbutz
Littorio has been waiting all preparation to get to this distance and track and closing sectionals in the Norman Robinson suggest he should have his rivals from that race covered here. Will need a little but of luck from the barrier but Nikolic is a good pilot.
Villain returns to the scene of his dominant win two starts back and no real issues with him running the trip. They may elect to settle a little handier today with no obvious speed in the race.
Kibbutz ran a mighty race last week behind Marching when posted very wide making his run, yet still kept finding the line. Track and trip ideal but perhaps he’s still 6 months away from his best.
Shaggy's Selections
1 - Marching
11 - Littorio
8 - Best Beware
Marching gets the nod here simply as he will sit on the pace, be put to sleep in a slowly run race and will be in the box seat coming around the home turn. Big chance.
Littorio was super last start running home strongly in the Norman Robinson. Extra distance will suit as will the Flemington expanses (it's a huge animal). Would be a fairytale win.
Best Beware is bred to stay and the further the better. Should be very strong at the finish.
