RACE 3-JAYCO SIRES PRODUCE STAKES 1400 METRES 12.50 P.M.
Big O’s Oracle
2 – Minnesota Shark
6 – Von Costa De Hero
10 – Burgeis
Minnesota Shark was the horse you wanted to be on in this race as soon as the Blue Diamond was over, where he made up considerable late ground to finish on the heels of the placegetters. Has been hanging out to get to his home track of Flemington which will suit his big striding action. Likely to go back from his alley but will be the one storming home down the middle of the track.
Von Costa De Hero’s run in the Blue Diamond Prelude was on par with Minnesota Shark and with his good barrier draw here he has to be rated a chance of winning the race. Missed the Blue Diamond with this race in mind and will make his presence felt.
Burgeis is becoming a bit of nightmare for punters with 3 consecutive defeats however, her runs have been quite good when running on well on each occasion. Looked to have peaked on her run at the finish of the Blue Diamond so the extra distance here may not necessarily be what she’s seeking however, she’s good enough to fill a place.
The Tiger was very brave on debut when sat wide the whole way and only narrowly beaten by subsequent Pol Roger stakes winner Carnero who also goes around here. Okaylah should run better than she did in the Blue Diamond and worth keeping your eye on Zapurple, who’s bred to be a good middle distance horse and her best may still be another preparation away.
Shaggy's Selections
9 - The Tiger
2 - Minnesota Shark
10 - Burgeis
The Tiger was nosed out by Carnero last start on a bog Sale track despite being trapped wide without cover. Barrier draw hasn't been kind, but if he can get a litle cover in the run should be there at the finish.
Minnesota Shark finished strongly in the Blue Diamond despite not having a clear run at them. Was excellent before that trailing in a couple of classy ones and should go very close.
Burgeis was another excellent finisher in the Blue Diamond and was only beaten by half a length. That reads as tremendous form into this and does look like the step up in distance will suit.
