Flemington - 6 October 2007

Race 8-TURNBULL STAKES 2000 METRES 04.25 P.M.

Big O’s Oracle

14 – Devil Moon
2 – El Segundo
11 – Cinque Cento

Devil Moon has been nothing but dominant in her past two wins and has overcome adversity on both occasions, so tipping she can handle the rise to Group 1 level and will never get a better opportunity with the weight scale afforded to her here.  Should position on the speed and be presented at the right time. Worth noting she ran similar time to El Segundo and Haradasun at the Valley last time and was wide most of the race.

El Segundo continues his quest for Cox Plate redemption here and from the good barrier, he can unleash his finishing burst and be right in the finish here.

Cinque Cento’s run last start was arguably as good as the horses who beat her home given she had to do all the donkey work taking the field up to the tearaway leader in the race.  Her record at the distance is impeccable and expect her to get a very soft lead here so she’ll be hard to run down and value odds.

Haradasun should be able to run well if the jockey is positive in the early stages and don’t leave Zipping out of multiples who ran a cracker in this race last year and was warming up well last time out.

Shaggy's Selections

6 - Marasco
14 - Devil Moon

2 - El Segundo

Everyone is jumping off him, but I think Marasco may prove a few doubters wrong here. Beadman was too concerned with Miss Finland last start, she isn't here and neither is Beadman. Always gives 110% and should be there at the pointy end.

Devil Moon has been unbelievable this preparation. Seriously good mare, and drawn to get a dream run, but just a little query against the big boys. Should go very close.

El Segundo has the class to blow these away. Great record at the distance and was very good last start, however he is suited to the tighter tracks rather than the big expanses of Flemington.
