Scenic Silver ran a very respectable 4th in the Winter Championship final last Saturday and was beaten by 3 very good horses. Previous two wins were impressive and win 3 starts back over Sea Battle reads well for this weaker affair, in which he carries the same weight as what he did last weekend. If he backs up from last Saturday, he wins.

Haddle McDaddle was a shade disappointing last start at Flemington although he did drop back in distance coming into that race. Previous effort at this track was good and he could control the race from the front here and give a good sight. Worth noting he bolted home in a similar affair over this track and distance this time last year.

Caprizzi Strip is an honest galloper who is finding it hard to win at present. Will roll forward as he’s accustomed to doing, should keep the tempo even and will be in the finish.

Dolphin Jo, despite the big weight, should be in your calculations as well. 5 starts at the track and 5 first up runs both for doughnuts doesn’t inspire on paper however, he generally runs against much stronger opposition than this and was unlucky 1st up last campaign over this trip behind Rubiscent and Master O’Reilly.

Caprizzi Strip is reaching peak fitness now and was only just nabbed on the line last start. Races well at the Valley, likes the soft ground and will be tough to run down.

Scenic Silver should have finished closer last week in the Winter Championship after being held up in the straight. Did beat Sea Battle on this track 3 starts back which is excellent form for this and should go very close.

Putting one of the old boys in for third with Mock. Raced super well before the freshen up and drawn ideally.
