MONEY MAKERS & MUNCHERS

25 & 26 April 2008

MONEY MAKERS

MELBOURNE (Flemington & Sandown)

Cent to Rome

Promising young horse who stormed home down the outside fence in 3 year old sprint.  Won impressively on debut and looks to be a good horse in the making.

Fastest Dash
Good filly who chased hard in 3 year old sprint.  Has very good finishing burst and goes well over 1200 – 1400 metres.

Fire in the Night
Got back in slowly run race and made up considerable ground when the race was all over.  Ready for the 2000 metres now and was a Coongy handicap winner in the spring so has a touch of quality about him.

Avelon Royale
Speedy filly who dashed nicely clear before tiring inside the 100 metres in 3 year old fillies’ sprint.  Back to 1100 metres will be hard to toss next time.

The Wolverine
Has been gradually working into form this preparation and fast closing effort in slowly run race showed he’ll be ready to win next start.

Niconi
Niconero’s half brother who has derived more than a fair bit of his sibling’s ability.

Fifth Avenue Lady
Looked black type quality when absolutely smashed her rivals showing a dazzling turn of foot.

City Of Ruins
Usually a bit hard to catch but fast closing effort from a long way back in open sprint was hard to miss.

Dr Nipandtuck
Quality horse who ran home well from the tail.  Better suited 1200 metres + and loves the sting out of the ground so should get conditions to suit in coming weeks.

Carbon Trader
Flashed home from the back of the field in 3 year old mile race and closing sectionals were quite useful.  Winner (Ace Harmony) is a pretty useful type as well.

Electrostatic
Set up a huge lead in the last of the day and only caught late in the piece by two pretty handy mares.  Back to 1200 metres she should be hard to catch next time.

Sovereign Miss
Evergreen mare who was making up good ground late in the piece in the last of the day.  Wait til she hits the mile though.

SYDNEY

Road to Rock
Has always promised a bit and broke through for his maiden win in the Carbine Club when sprinted away from useful bunch of youngsters.

Running to Win
Got posted wide in the Carbine Club and never shirked his task.  Game effort.

Sung
First up effort when made strong run was very good and only beaten by the very talented Espurante.  Going to

have a good preparation.

Nediyms Dream
Fast closing effort in the Bell handicap suggests she’ll be winning again in weaker grade shortly.

Sky Biscuit
Amazing old horse who just never seems to run a bad race, no matter what class of race or distance.  Beat all bar No Wine No song in the Chairmans and had to work pretty hard in the run.

Reigning to Win
In for a bumper Brisbane carnival after splitting possibly the two best sprinters in the country – Apache Cat and Takeover Target.

Raise
Question whether what she beat was any good however, when you’re winning by 6+ lengths you need to sit up and take notice.  Should give Zarita a run for her money in the Oaks.

MONEY MUNCHERS

MELBOURNE

Morgan Dollar
Very speedy animal... looking for a nice 600 metre sprint somewhere.

Belcentra
Absolute shadow of the filly who dominated a couple of times in the spring.

Blacken
Has had far too many chances to break through in town.

Eclair Passion
Couldn’t have had a softer run in transit on the weekend and found very little.

SYDNEY

Cravings
Got the conditions to suit and still just plodded away – seems very limited.

Lazer Sharp
Still do far too many things wrong in his races.  Will need a miracle to turn the table in the Sydney Cup.

Largo Lad
Has blown a hole in a lot of people’s wallets this campaign... fortunately not ours.

Magnus
Tries hard but just not up to Group 1 level.  Has earnt his spell in the stud paddock.
