MONEY MAKERS & MUNCHERS

3 May 2008

MONEY MAKERS

MELBOURNE

Red Element
This horse could be capable of much more than what he beat on the weekend.  Seems to have a bit of a motor on him and will be a much better horse in the spring.

The Gem
Good front running mare who could easily clean up a few more races this preparation.

Crabs
Had to overcome a slow tempo and only just missed behind Ballack.  Racing very consistently at present and should chalk up another win.

Desert Master
Only having his second run this preparation over the 2040 metres so was always up against it but still ran on well.  He’ll come into his own over 2400 metres very shortly.

In the Shadows
Another horse who seems destined for bigger things than Saturday.  Won with a touch arrogance in the end and wasn’t fully wound up for the race.

Lord Sudurka
Has had more than 6 months off and was one of the only horses to make any sort of ground from back in the field on the weekend.  Good off season sprinter at his best.

SYDNEY

Gogocanny
Probably lacked a touch of fitness and only having his 2nd race start but wound up very nicely to just miss in the Inglis.

Murtajill
Very brave effort to endeavour to lead all the way at very solid tempo and only run down late by Racing to Win.  Should have a fruitful Brisbane carnival if they go that way.

Double Dare
Looked totally outgraded in a Group 1 Weight For Age race however, flashed home late from a mile back.  Good horse when ridden cold as has electrifying sprint.

Camarilla
Has taken a while to hit her straps this preparation but effort to run 3rd against the older mares when not suited at the weights was commendable.

MONEY MUNCHERS

MELBOURNE

Dane the Rave
Last two efforts have been deplorable and got his favoured wet surface on the weekend.

Classic De Lago
Very meek effort after having charmed run on the speed.

SYDNEY

Kylie
Last two runs have shown she’s not up to Saturday grade.  Back to the mid weekers.

The Fuzz
The Fizz.

Deloraine
Her form suggests she’s going well and is a useful sort, but she’s a bit of kidder.  Loomed up to win easily on Saturday once again only to get gun shy in the last 100 metres.
