Tuesday Joy has won her last two races in convincing fashion and appears to have a mortgage on this race. Drop back in distance from 2400 metres to 2000 metres shouldn’t pose any problems and is one of very few Group 1 performed horses in this race.
There will be a tear in the eye of racegoers as the war horse of Sydney racing Desert War rolls up for his final appearance. He hasn’t been at his absolute top this preparation however, has shown enough at his past 3 runs to suggest that he may give more than just a bit of cheek out in front here. Going to give you a great sight in the lead and will be making his own luck.
Our Smoking Joe was disappointing when dropping back in grade last time out however, previous Weight For Age form entitles him to another chance in a race devoid of much quality.
Serious Speed ran well in the Doncaster and did run well over this distance in the Wakeful in the spring however, not entirely convinced she’s a Weight For Age horse. Kiwis Nom De Jeu and Red Ruler front up from last their 1st and 2nd from last week’s Derby however, big query on the quality of that line up as compared to what is going around here.

Tuesday Joy thrashed them in the BMW and does look to have this race at her mercy. She's versatile enough to race handy or get back in the run and should prove too good.
Serious Speed is the obvious danger. In good form and ran home strongly in the Doncaster. Looks cherry ripe to run a strong 2000m.
Desert War's last race start so a big salute to this courageous veteran. He could go out a winner, but he may find the 2 girls alittle too strong at the line.
