Big Fist - Cox Plate Day 2009

E-mail Print PDF

Thumbs Up & Big Fist is where the Mug Punting team take a humourous look at what's hot and what's not from the weekend’s racing.

THUMBS UP

Bart, Bossy and So You Think
Who else did you think this could really be..?? One of the most extraordinary efforts the Mug Punting Team can recall seeing on a racetrack. Glen Boss shows massive nuts to go to the lead and the 3YO does the rest breaking the other horses hearts and almost the race record in the process....all Masterminded by an 81 year old training genius. We are still shaking our heads in disbelief.

Apache Cat & Damien Oliver
Not sure if it's the big baldy face or the ridiculous galloping style...whatever it is he is truly is the People's Champion. His win on the weekend was VERY brave and typical of the horse to always give 110% on the track. Got a MASSIVE reception post race and the Valley was throbbing. Thumbs Up to Damien Oliver for the genius ride...after similar genius on Sublimity earlier in the day.

BIG FIST

Brad Rawiller (Extra Zero)
From Thumbs Up to Fist in the space of 7 days (almost a new MP record)...the ride on Extra Zero was a shocker, but I'm sure David Hayes tor strips off you afterwards. Fisted.

Whobegotyou
All around the cobbler's Bench
The monkey chased the weasel.
The monkey thought it all in fun,
Pop, goes the bubble.....the MP Team always queried his ability to stay a strong 2040m (despite people's laughter) and so it proved.
