Updated weekly, our Money Makers & Money Munchers service gives you a detailed list of horses that are going places in the near future and those that will turn punters into paupers.

MONEY MAKERS

Melbourne

I’m a Hussy
As an owner, you couldn’t ask for more – jumps fast and runs flat out the whole way.  She’s one of the better sprinting wet trackers of recent years.

Sistine Angel
Defied the bias of the day to come from last and made up significant ground to win a strong race.

Yosei
As good as Sistine Angel was, Yosei was really impressive in the last 100 metres working strongly to the post.  Group 1 winner of the autumn and tends to go unnoticed against rivals of bigger stables so you could easily pinch her at a bit of odds in something this spring.

So You Think
He really is going to be world class if Bart ever gives him the opportunity.  Simply amazing performance to win like that after 9 months off (NB: Previously listed Money Maker Shoot Out was enormous in the last 100 metres – the Cox Plate looks a two horse race this far out).

Sydney

Sherpa Tenzing
Winning 1st up over 1800 metres is fairly difficult..even moreso when you’re 3 wide the trip.  Big run to only fail by 2 lengths.  Wouldn’t have to improve much to win a good staying race given the weakness of Sydney’s staying ranks.

Ilovethiscity
The more times you watch this race, it just becomes obvious that he should have won the Golden Rose.  Held up wherever Josh Parr went and he sprouted wings when finally got clear.  Hopefully for connections they can pick up the Randwick Guineas as consolation.

More Joyous
Welcome back – one of the best mares in the country and you don’t often see horses winning that easily with 59kgs on their backs.

MONEY MUNCHERS

Melbourne

Cat’s Pyjamas
Bucked first up, and didn’t do much better on Saturday.

Headway
The breeding barn beckons.

Carrara
Seems to have never recovered from being Denman’s whipping boy as a 3 year old.

Mr Baritone
Just turned 9 and seems like he won’t get to win another race.

Sydney

Lighthorseman
A bookie’s dream...an owner’s nightmare.
