Updated weekly, our Money Makers & Money Munchers service gives you a detailed list of horses that are going places in the near future and those that will turn punters into paupers.
MONEY MAKERS
Melbourne
Chase the Rainbow
Strong sustained finish and effectively beaten by the barrier having got too far back. Probably not good enough to win a Caulfield Guineas but plenty of other good 3 year old races for him.
Dreamaway
Run doesn’t look anything flash on paper but had no luck and she hit the line with her ears pricked. Strung together a series of wins in Perth last campaign and is well above average.
Littorio
Heartbreaking for all of us he knocked out of the quaddie and Big 6 but great to see our old mate back after a career threatening injury. Fingers crossed he can win another Group 1.
Glass Harmonium
Better than just a Queensland winter horse – wide all the way and Littorio only got him in the last 3 strides. Bit one paced so more of a cups horse for mine than Cox Plate.
Toorak Toff
Drew the wrong side of the track in the sprint but kept trying. Was only 12 months ago we were hailing him the best 3 year old in the country.
December Draw
Flogged the plodders, now time to prove he can do it against the top liners.
Sydney
Decision Time
Carried the weight and won with a bit in hand. Very underrated.
Sincero
First up with 58kgs and beat Secret Admirer who we reckon can win the Epsom. Cox Plate is certainly not beyond the realms of possibilities.
MONEY MUNCHERS
Melbourne
Jeuneyman
Simply impossible to catch.
Offenders
Off season only.
Doubtful Jack
Wet track only.
Sydney
Soul
Genuine, but can’t keep up with them on dry tracks.
Neeson
Much like the actor, keep pumping him up but you feel ripped off after you’ve watched him.
