Not prepared to hail Rain Affair as a Weight For Age horse but can’t see him getting rolled here either with the prospect of a ridiculously easy lead and wet track conditions which he loves. The hype is enormous around this bloke and you’d love to see Sydney throw us a decent sprinter to compete with the likes of Hay List in the upcoming feature sprints.
Winter King almost rolled Rain Affair last August in the Missile under similar conditions and despite the fact that he likes winning about as much as you and I like drinking herbal tea, he’ll get the suck run behind Rain Affair and looks a monty to run 2nd. Also pretty handy when you’ve got a 2nd to Black Caviar on resume which will be something for the owners to reminisce about in future years.
Shoot Out is apparently going very well for his new stable and whilst he’s always been known as a miler/middle distance horse, I’ve seen him produce several times over 1200/1400 metres so am giving a sneaky little chance of an upset here first up. Good first up form and can handle the wet.

Going to put some trust in Danleigh here, doesn't have much fresh form and only fair at the distance...but is a proven Group and WFA performer so hoping class rises to the top here at 20-1.
Rain Affair is extremely short odds and with good reason....he looks a very promising horse on the up. Should win, but has to be a question mark until he proves it at this level.
Winter King is such a NON-WINNER....but will be on Rain Affairs shoulder the whole way and does stick on in the straight.
